New Thought I'd Say Hi

Hi,

I just signed up and thought I should say hi. I've been on Mac since 1989. I'm a Graphic Designer/Illustrator since 1984. I'm on the verge of migrating to OS X Tiger from OS 9.2.2. First time I've been this overwhelmed by a system upgrade (the cost of waiting so long I know). I just asked my first question in the OS X forum in anticipation of this. If you have a moment check out my website:

Thanks

Thanks. Man I wish there had been something like this in the old days. I'm just glad it's here now that I'm a bit tired of search all over the net for answers. I hope I'll be able to help in the future.

Well, places like this did exist, but in the form of bulletin board systems back in the late 80s/early 90s. Once the WWW took off forums started moving from the BBS sites to web sites, and with all the developing technologies (especially the open source stuff) it just got better and more flexible. :)

Welcome. I think you are in good hands. These folks know a thing or two. They're even funny sometimes.
I don't know about the Welsh, but leeks are good for you. No?

Thanks Everyone,

Well the hold out was due to an employeer who hates to spend money, hates technology and hates change. He's a great guy but it takes awhile to convince him. Combine that with some serious debt I inherited when I got married and here I am 5 years later. I've never believed that the technology was the main thing in design but it had finally come to a rediculous point. I just got it all installed but now I need a larger internal drive. So I'll probably have to reinstall. Between that and the books I'm going to have to buy to get caught up on CS2 and OSX I'm going to be broke for awhile. Any suggestions on good books to check out?

I am not a designer but a great site for books on most anything technical, Mac, and every other computer under the Sun is O'Reilly Press. Just check out the menu on the left side. They have several books on CS2.
