I havent seen such flaming since the old BBS days of the late 1980s!
However, the permission answer saved me. I was up until 3am last night trying to work out wtf I had done wrong.
Just the simple exercise through the Get Info box did it for me.
It also fixed a problem I had syncing my iPhone contacts and backing up iPhone to the HD.
Again, thank you all for an entertaining solution.
