Pismo CPU Reset

I've never heard of such a thing as "resetting the CPU." You can zap PRAM, reset PRAM, reset NVRAM and sometimes, on certain Macintosh models, you can reset the motherboard via a small button (the CUDA reset button).

Could it be that you're trying to do one of those things instead?

A full (PMU) reset of the Pismo (Apple calls it a 'PowerBook (FireWire)') follows:

If the computer is on, turn it off.

Press and release the reset button located on the rear panel of the computer between the external video and modem ports.

Wait 5 seconds.

Press the Power button to restart the computer.
