power converter for japan

i found this power converter.

would it work for my US laptop in japan? is there something better?

If your 'US laptop' is a PowerBook or an iBook, then you don't need any adapter, other than the power adapter that came with your 'Book. The adapters are world-wide, with only a plug adapter to change the physical layout of the plug, if that is needed. The adapter will switch to 100-240 volts AC, 50-60 Hz, without need for transformers and etc. This same info may or may not apply to any other piece of electronic stuff, but you're already set with a 'Book !
