Mac Mini (2 years old) 1GB RAM 1.87 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacOSX 10.6.4

Faultless Internet connection to Macbook (wireless or Ethernet connection) at 2GB download speed.

Lousy Internet connection to Mac Mini (wireless or Ethernet connection), i.e. difficulty loading pages, downloads/uploads won't work. Tried Safari and Firefox.

Pinged service provider from Netgear router - no problems.

Could this be a hardware fault with the Mac Mini?

Does this happen under ALL user accounts? Create a new, temporary user account and test there.

Also, what happens if you delete all network locations, remove any keychain entries for passwords for wireless routers (you can search with Keychain application for the name of the wireless router), and then re-establish a new, fresh connection?

I set up a new user account and the connection was excellent.

I have therefore given this new user account admin rights and transferred all my files from the old account to it. I have deleted the old account.

So far so good. Excellent internet connection.

I wonder what will happen when I start using my software programmes (many have to be re-registered)?

I shall do one at a time and see what happens.

Thank you.
