One of the updates is over 1GB in size (for iMovie).
Maybe your ISP has problems with really large file downloads??
Try the updates again, but uncheck the iMovie update.
also, all of those updates can be downloaded manually from Apple's support downloads page:
http://support.apple.com/downloads/
