Switching off Wireless Mouse Sounds

Hi

I'm a new Mac OS X user and am using a G3 iBook 800Mhz laptop with a Apple Wireless Mouse .... After installing it I now getting a "sweak" (like a kids toy) when I click on anything ...

How can I turn this off?

Hope its not to much of a silly question :)
 
System Preferences/Sound pane - turn off 'play user interface sound effects'?
If that doesn't do it, then it may be some other software that you have added, perhaps a program that modifies how the system looks and works (many kinds of these, called 'haxies')
 
I have an Apple Wireless Mouse and it makes no noise in OS X except for the physical 'click' a mouse makes when you click the button. :D
 
dlloyd -- what do you mean, "doesn't work for me?" That option doesn't do much anyway, since there are VERY few user interface sounds to begin with.
