for some reason i couldnt get to my system preferences any more so i ran disk utility and this is the message it delivered:

idk what to do
i cant even get into system preferences
 
If you ran Disk Utility while booted from your internal hard drive, then the errors reported may be incorrect.

It's best (read: required) for you to boot from the OS X Install CD/DVD, then run Disk Utility on your internal drive while booted from the optical drive in order to correctly diagnose and repair your hard drive using Disk Utility.
