I recently purchased a macbook off craigslist (osx lion) and it booted up just like a new mac out of the store and made me register and setup. once i installed and update and rebooted it. when i went to log back in it had demo software pop up and my user name was deleted? how do i uninstall this software.

Most apps can simply be dragged to the trash, then empty the trash.

Can you tell us specifically what the 'demo' apps are?
Also - how do you know that your "user name was deleted"
If you mean your user account name, then go to your System Preferences, then Users & Groups. Your user name will be listed there, and would probably be at the top of the list, as that would likely be the account that you are logged in to.
