weird connection problem

I can't connect to the internet with Safari, but I can with Firefox, and I can receive Mail on my home iMac. Network says I am connected, but my menu bar app says I'm not. I am posting this remotely from my MacBook, so I can connect to my home computer. B2MM and Screen Sharing are working, but as you can see I am connected in Firefox but not Safari.

Open System Preferences->Network to see if the Mac sees the network connection.

Thanks for helping. I just got Safari back. The Proxy in Network/Advanced was clicked on. Now this shows up. BTW, I have never touched these settings. They just appeared. Do they look correct?

They look OK to me, but it would be better asked of a network administrator at the "UofM".
