I just looked at Apple's own forum. It appears that this problem is CAUSED by the latest verson of iTunes. No one has the problem with iTunes 3, but the latest version has resulted in this for a lot of people. Apple support is, unfortunately, pretty much denying that it's a problem. Anyway...

I'm not running Panther (yet), so I don't think that's the problem. The bookmark file is just where it's supposed to be, but unfortunately it's entirely new; all of the old ones are gone. Oh well. I think I'll just start over. Thanks.

Excellent idea, but I moved it to trash and then tried again with no luck. Then tried rebooting, still no luck. Exactly the same result. Thanks for your ideas, though. Bound to be something that will work.

Worked perfectly, to a point. I installed 5.2.2. and then tried to start it up. It seemed to install properly instead of just installing an upgrade. Unfortunately, when I started the application, I got exactly the same behavior--as soon as it started to load, it quit. So I've got another...
