Can't view messages in Mail 2.0!

When posting the previous message, I should have asked everyone to respond to my Google mail account since I can't see messages sent to my ISP! Thanks. craigcthompson@gmail.com

Can't view messages in Mail 2.0!

I am suddenly having the same problem, sort of. I basically can't see any NEW messages. One time when I opened the program, it showed me several of the new messages I know I've received, but it showed all of them as being from me. Then I opened it again, and the new messages were gone. I've...

    idisk woes

I also get this message about an unrecoverable internal error constantly. Does anyone have any ideas? (I just repaired permissions.)

    iDisk Permissions Problem

I notice that the original message has been here a long time with no reply, but I'm hoping someone to help. I'm still running Jaguar, but I'm getting ready to install Tiger. I thought I'd back up a few things, and a small number of them I'd put in iDisk--which I basically haven't been using...

    device drained its buffer (iTunes)

4.2 showed up in Software Update for me tonight. Now I've got it, and I've got exactly the same problem. Everyone on the Apple Support problem has also reported that 4.2 doesn't make any difference with respect to this problem. And there are lots and lots of posts there about precisely this...

    device drained its buffer (iTunes)

Well, I'm actually running 4.1(v52). I think that's the latest, isn't it? Sorry if I mislead anyone.

    device drained its buffer (iTunes)

I just looked at Apple's own forum. It appears that this problem is CAUSED by the latest verson of iTunes. No one has the problem with iTunes 3, but the latest version has resulted in this for a lot of people. Apple support is, unfortunately, pretty much denying that it's a problem. Anyway...

    device drained its buffer (iTunes)

Yes, I'm burning audio cd's with iTunes. I've basically never had any trouble before. I just tried burning at 2X with exactly the same result. And I've used these CD's (rewritables) before--or rather similar ones from the same package, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm wondering...

    device drained its buffer (iTunes)

I'm using iTurns 4.0 in Jaguar. Never had a problem burning disks before, but the last couple of days it starts to do the burn, then I get an error message, "The device drained its buffer without burn underrun protection," and the disk pops out. I've tried different disks, so that doesn't seem...

    lost bookmarks on reinstalling Safari

Thanks, Bob. I actually do have backups, but they're not quite that recent. So I don't think I'm going to bother. . . .

    lost bookmarks on reinstalling Safari

I'm not running Panther (yet), so I don't think that's the problem. The bookmark file is just where it's supposed to be, but unfortunately it's entirely new; all of the old ones are gone. Oh well. I think I'll just start over. Thanks.

    lost bookmarks on reinstalling Safari

I was having repeated problems with Safari, so I deleted the application and downloaded a new version. Now I have no bookmarks at all. Any way to get them back? Thanks.

    Reinstalling Internet Explorer

Excellent idea, but I moved it to trash and then tried again with no luck. Then tried rebooting, still no luck. Exactly the same result. Thanks for your ideas, though. Bound to be something that will work.

    Reinstalling Internet Explorer

Worked perfectly, to a point. I installed 5.2.2. and then tried to start it up. It seemed to install properly instead of just installing an upgrade. Unfortunately, when I started the application, I got exactly the same behavior--as soon as it started to load, it quit. So I've got another...
