    Menu Blinking

There's nothing at all wrong with my system. This is just one of those things thats always been there in every release of Mac OS since the beginning. It's just that in OS9 you used to be able to set the number of blinks when a menu item is selected from 0 to 3 and you don't have that option on...

    Menu Blinking

stv1701, I'm with you on this one. This has been there in every release of OSX and is indeed still there in 10.3.1 and beyond. Anyone who has used OSX for a long time isn't likely to notice it all that much but it is indeed there. I've used OSX exclusively for 2 years now and have searched...

Dual G5s bumpted to ship in 7 - 10 business days

My Dual G5 w/BT/ 2x512MB/1-250GB HD/9800 ordered on 6/23 finally shipped yesterday on 09/30. After the absolute chaos of the last few weeks, I finally got somebody on the phone from Apple ADC who admitting without prompting the moment he got my order up on the screen that something was wrong...

Dual G5s bumpted to ship in 7 - 10 business days

Don't believe everything you see on Apple's site. I've been waiting since 6/23 for a dual G5. My latest OOB date is 10/29 after they missed 9/2 and 9/23 OOB dates. This despite the fact that countless machines have shipped with the same components I'm waiting for on mine that were ordered in...

    iChat AV for Windows!

Everything I've read suggests that he said it 'should be compatible with Windows software soon'. That's a far cry from porting the software. I suspect he's aware of 3rd parties making products that work on Windows platform that use the same standards that will allow the two platforms to connect.

    Dazzle DV-Bridge Anyone?

I've used it a half dozen times with iMovie to pull video off of analog video tapes including VHS. The one thing to remember with this configuration is that you're using a non-controllable device. As a result you need to start the playing of the video player manually and then start the import...

    Apple Cinema Display meets PC

To crowfreak, It's the 128k version of the card. In fact I just did a mother board and processor upgrade (2500+) to the machine and now have it connecting through a GEFEN ADC switch box which allows me to share my 2nd Cinema Display between primary on the XP box and secondary on my video...

There are a couple of these available. Apple has one; you can get the details of their's at: http://www.apple.com/displays/adapter.html You can also get one from GEFEN. Theirs is at http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1203 I've actually got one of each of these connected to Apple...

Apple ADC Monitor to DVI Video Card

One of the reasons that these are so expensive is that you have to send power and USB up the ADC cable in addition to the video signal. As a result, the adpater includes a power cable, USB connection and the DVI interface cable for connection to the computer. The less expensive adapter you're...

Apple ADC Monitor to DVI Video Card

It will cost you a little more than $50 to achieve this but it is indeed possible. Apple has a DVI-to-ADC adapter that will do this for $99.00. I've got one from CompuCable that cost me about $140.00. In my case it's connected from the DVI port on an XP machine to a new Cinema Display 20"...

    Apple Cinema Display meets PC

It's an AGP 4 card connected to the DVI interface on the card. That particular card has both DVI and VGA interface, both of which can be used simultaneously. Its in a system with an Athlon 2200+ processor. I'm running Windows XP Pro with all of the latest updates available on the graphics card...

    Apple Cinema Display meets PC

It is indeed possible to do this, I've got one working in front of me right now. I have machine running Windows XP with an ATI RADEON9000 graphics card in it. I have a CompuCable DVI-to-ADC adapter plugged into it and then the 20" Cinema display plugged into the adapter. it took about 3 reboots...

    What is QuickBooks?

QuickBooks is a small business accounting software package made by Intuit; the folks behind Quicken. They just released a new version that runs under Mac OS X that they and Apple are trying to hype. Unfortunately, in typical Intuit form, the feature list is about 3 years behind what it...

    Repeatable Crash in OS X

I'm really starting to think that it's truly a software thing since I haven't run AIM since making the post and everyting has run totally smooth. I've launched all sorts of other Classic apps including things like PhotoShop, all of Office 2001 and a number of others with no problem at all. I...
