you should be using regular patch cables for everything from the modem to the router to the computers. Just a note.
Also if you are using DSL. Your router should be set to use PPPoE(over ethernet)
Try checking the configs of the router. I believe linksys uses 192.168.1.1 as it's address to change configs. Make sure the DHCP Server is running on it and it is handing out addresses.
Also does the hub have an uplink port? if not you may have to use a crossover cable to connect the router...
I think I'd be happy that the fan is spinning. I've had many problems with my powerbook because it is overheating and now that the fan is spinning it's not as bad.

Everything should start back up as long as it is set to in Server Settings if you are using a 10.2 server. If the server does a full reboot there is no reason why the services will not start up.

I would just get any Airport card you can for your machines and buy a cheap Linksys wireless router and a cheap USB or Internal wireless adapter for the Dell. The Airport cards will work great with a linksys router. And you can get them cheap too, under 80 bucks. I wouldn't worry too much...
I don't know if anyone has thought about this or not. But can you encode your own tracks with DRM so that people can't steal your music? All the tracks would have the same rights as downloaded ones, but they'd be ripped from your own CD.
