Hi all, I'm on dialup and always miss calls. I went to sys prefs/modem and checked "notify me of incoming calls" and "play alert when receiving call"-then clicked apply-even restarted. I still stay connected, and no alert, when someone calls. Am I missing something here? Thanks

After installing OS10.4.9 on my Mac mini I ran "erase free space" on disc utility and kept getting a "startup disc is nearly full" message, even though it indicated (in the bottom of the DU window) that I had 16 GB available (21 gb were being used). All other apps were closed. Whats up?

Hi, I have a iBook G4 laptop and a mac mini--both running os x 10.4.8. I recently downloaded Acquisition -- it works fine on the iBook, but won't connect on the mini. Other P2P programs - limewire,etc., work fine on both--but not Aquisition. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I know this is sleazy, but how can I completely uninstall software demos that have a time limit (eg. 30 days, or 10 runs, etc.), so that I can re-install them, say on the 31st day, from the dmg. I've tried trashing program, prefs, etc. - when re-installing it "knows" I've used the program...

I just posted somewhere else that I make DVD copies using mactheripper (free) to decrypt, then DVD remaster ($50) to shrink to normal disc size. I have 2 cheap DVD players - one plays the discs fine, one doesn't. ???.

To copy DVDs, I decrypt them with mactheripper (free), then shrink them with DVD remaster (about $50) to fit on regular DVDs. It works great, usually.
