Dictionary.app not working in my user account

OK, just figured out how to repair permissions... in Disk Utility. That still hasn't resolved the problem. I wonder if something may be interfering with it... software incompatibility somewhere?

Dictionary.app not working in my user account

The Dictionary.app is not working properly in my user account. The application launches but simply will not provide any definitions when words are typed in the search box. The Dictionary Widget still works fine in my user account. I've deleted the 'com.apple.Dictionary.plist' file, assuming...

    Novice X11 Open Office User

I've been using OpenOffice and NeoOffice for a while now, and sometimes OOo and NeoO has formatting issues with MS documents and spreadsheets. For the most part, the content should still be there, it just requires formatting adjustments.

Can You Name This 80s Song?

Well, I thought the song was "L Is For Lover" by Al Jarreau - it was published in 1986 under the album "L Is For Lover". Which music genre does this song belong to? Pop? Rock? Easy Listening? Jazz? Male vocalist? Female vocalist? Both? Check Nat King Cole or Natalie Cole for "L-O-V-E" The...

Resume or curriculum - which one do you send when applying for jobs?

In America, this depends on your education, work experience, and the position to which you are applying. As a scientist my entire career, I've submitted resumes and CVs. Generally, if you have a B.S. or M.S. with little or no work experience, you submit a resume. If you have a B.S. / M.S...

    Mail problems... very strange.

I also have had strange behavior with Mail since updating to 10.4.8. I cannot seem to edit draft e-mails or drag attachments to messages. The only work around that I've found is a system restart. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

    Would anyone recommend iWork'06?

I have NeoOffice too, but it isn't up-to-date like OpenOffice 2.0.4. Just give it a try, you'll see what I mean, plus, the new OpenOffice has some really nice new installation options regarding fonts. I used to be into 'elegance' - not any more - I'm more into software's functionality and...

    Would anyone recommend iWork'06?

Yes, I just installed it last week and have to say that's come a long way. If you're a poor college student (like I used to be), this office suite, is well, pretty sweet! It finally opens MS Excel spreadsheets properly as far as charts being displayed mostly as they are in MS Office. The...

    Would anyone recommend iWork'06?

OpenOffice.org just released a newer version of OpenOffice, and I have to say that word processing and spreadsheet functionality are on par with MS Office. OpenOffice needs X11 installed - it's on your Mac OS X install Disc.

    The Zune

While I have no use for a phone that can play MP3s, I would really like to see the iPod and Newton Technologies merge into one product. I already have the Motorola RAZR V3m, complete with 1.3 megapixel camera and internet integration (web surfing, e-mail, watching streaming movie/news/sports...

Is the government spying on us through our beloved internet?

Is the U.S. Government spying on its citizens?... YES! In more ways than you could possibly imagine. In fact, I'm willing to bet it has profiles on almost everyone, but I don't think that you or I are actively being monitored by people, computers and programs are but I doubt humans get involved...
