    Are 2D videogames irrelevant?

    Out of all the game I've played... my Super Mario World for SNES got the most use... as well as the SNES version of Zelda - both are great 2D games. Now, if you were making a first-person shooter with sprites... that'd be different. :) But RPGs and platform games can still be great 2D games...

    Mail merging?

    Or... first check to see if you ISP support IMAP. Mine (speakeasy.net) supports either, just depends on how I use it. I'm a person that rarely even deletes my "deleted" mail so I don't use IMAP even though there are times that I would like to.

    Mac OS X 10.3.7

    Do the printing "fixes" include a fix for the messed-up Aqua controls in a printed page? It looks so crappy that I print web pages from my PC instead. :( (See attachment.)

    Problem with WAV files

    I have three WAV files on a CD that need to be converted to MP3s so that I can use them on a website. However, iTunes says that the files are not audio files (or corrupted). Audion won't play them or encode them either. The only program that will play them is VLC, which doesn't really do me...

    10.3.6 Network Issue

    I was mad today because I was out on a job with my laptop and found that since 10.3.6 my ethernet wasn't working either. Turns out that it changed my ethernet from "Auto" to "Manual 1000 Base-T"... which doesn't really work with 100 Base-T equipment.

    need of a anti-virus software

    There are plenty of viruses that can spread through a Mac, even if they don't affect them. Word viruses are a pain too. I currently have Norton AV installed at a small business I do work for, it sucks, period. Especially on a network, NAV's auto-update sucks as it store it's update...

    what happened to VirtualPC7?

    In my old PowerMac I had a RealPC (I think that was the brand) 486 PC card... the thing ran great. I could just hit a key combo and switch which computer I was using.

    Problem forwarding HTML mssgs in Mail

    I've just run into this with a business I've been helping... they switched from Eudora on OS 9 to Apple's Mail on OS X and they can't forward HTML emails with links... all of the links and images get messed up. Is there a solution to this other than ditching Apple's Mail program?

    Does the Powermac G5 have two drives?

    One drive, so not a lot of expansion in that area (which is too bad considering the size of the thing). Though, from my experiences with copying CD/DVDs, the two drive method usually leads to problems, or neither drive being able to work as fast as it would otherwise.

    How do I rename a font?

    I downloaded a font called FREE3OF9.TTF for some barcodes. I can add the font to FontBook and use it in my apps just fine. But it shows up as "New". Is there a way to rename a font? Or does anyone know of some software that can do it?

    return to login screen on idle

    The 'require password' from screen savers just brings up a generic password box. What I do is turn on fast user switching and if I'm going to be away, I go the fast user menu and select Show Login... or whatever it says.

    Address to send a letter to?

    If I wanted to send a letter to Apple regarding technical issues that can't be resolved through tech support, would anyone know the address that I should send it to?

    Webserver through Router

    Port 80 is by default the port for webservers. Forward this port to the IP address of the computer acting as the server. For most consumer routers that I know of, you can't forward the same port to different machines, a big limitation for me sometimes. You can forward different ports to...

    static ip

    Also, outside the office, you might want to setup an alternate network location that uses DHCP or your own IP address for wherever you're at.

    static ip

    The IP address (usually) isn't tied to your mail sending abilities. Some ISPs do restrict outgoing mail from networks not on their domain. Usually this is resolved by supplying your username and password to your outgoing (SMTP) connection in addition to your usual POP incoming access...

    sharing and public folders (osx - windows)

    That shouldn't be the case unless you login with your Mac name and password or your Windows machine uses the same name and password. I don't know how to login as a guest from a Windows machine. Try Sharepoints (free I think) or wait until OS X Tiger... I think that will greatly improve...

    Linksys WPA and PowerBook G4 not working

    I've been successfully using my PowerBook along with my Linksys wireless-G router for year now, using WEP to keep the neighbors out. The other day I wanted to give WPA a try. I upgraded the Linksys firmware to the latest version (and powered it off/on). My PowerBook has Airport Extreme Card...

    Connecting PowerBook with 4 PC's (XP)

    Windows XP doesn't have a Guest account by default, but it can be enabled. Not that it really matters, because you're having the dreaded Alias Cannot Be Found... error. I was having that happen with my PC running XP and this was the fix: ------------------------------...
