randomly, an icon will be replaced by another completely unrelated one. ive attached a picture of a photoshop document which has an msn icon. does this happen to anyone else? is there a way to stop it from happening? once i restart, the icons are back to normal until it decides to switch again...

yes, its dial up. they dont offer broadband and i think it is the image kill thing.

does anyone know if the current version of netzero works on 10.3? a friend of mine is trying to sign up and gets an "unexpectedly quit" message (after installing from a cd). the netzero website says "mac os X or higher" which doesnt exactly help. thanks. :)

hmmm... ill try that. im using an epson as well... the 740. i used to be able to adjust it pretty good so it came out true to the original... but now that ive upgraded to panther, everything is completely different. oh well. ill try to figure it out. thanks :D

i tried to print some pix today (first time in panther) and i could not for the life of me get them to print the correct color or contrast. i wasted so much ink and photo paper. i made a custom filter in colorsync, adjusting a little over for compensation, and it still prints as if i havent...

thats actually a lot better. the original movies were taken 100 years ago, so the quality isnt that great in the first place. when i played them on a windows machine it pretty much looked the same. well, i think it might be a lost cause right now. thanks anyway for the help. oh, something...

ok, so ive upgraded to panther (finally) and can now test out these AVI files. what im getting looks like this (see attachment). is there anything i can do or use to get these files to play better? ive tried converting them with a couple apps and it coudnt even do that. again, any help is...

im impatient, haha. i went to AppleCare Support and found "sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/" which worked. thanks for the terminal advice. :D

ive been looking for something to delete these files and everything that i think might help is for 10.2+ and im only 10.1 right now. its so annoying that im "punished" for not buying the update. i WILL be buying 10.3 however.

i have 2 files in my trash that wont delete, but dont exist. they only show up after a reboot but when you try to click them, they disappear. how do i get rid of them permanently? every time i go to empty the trash, i get a "this operation cannot be completed because one or more required items...

im trying, desperately, to get some historic (AVI) video files of San Francisco to work. a specific one would be "a trip down market street" from 1905 found HERE. ive tried using quicktime and videoLAN, but neither work. are there any other players, im unaware of, that could play these files...
