when you do an archive-install, you should have a folder called "old system" or something. Perhaps your e-mails can be found in oldsystem/user/library/mail ?

so i just got firefox, and i notice that when i use my two-finger scrolling trackpad on my powerbook, the horizontal scroll seems to be used as back/forward...is there anyway to stop this and just have it scroll as normal?

reinstall word from the installation discs, maybe? also, if you had a version of word you installed, and still had remnants of the TRIAL version that came with your powerbook, that could be causing a conflict. that happened to me, but i removed everything pertaining to the trial version...

thank you all for your replies. i've heard WD and Seagate are pretty good, as well? the drive being bootable is a requirement. I've got a 15" pb, 1.67ghz...so it's fairly new and shouldn't have a problem. But if I do build my own from a good case and internal hdd, what should I look for...

hey, i'm sure it's been asked a thousand times...but oddly enough, i searched and couldn't find anything before 2005...nothing of relevance at least. So I was considering getting a firewire hdd, but wanted recommendations on brands and stuff. I want it to be bootable, and around 120gb in size...

i use a bluetooth headset with my cell phone, and i usually put my cell phone right next to my wireless router when i talk on it...and i have no problems, it's usually crystal clear. at my old job, my office contained the server closet, and i used a bluetooth mouse there. also, no problems.

i have the same problem with some embedded .asx files in 10.3.9. it tells me the filename/path is wrong/doesn't exist or something to that effect. but i think that has something to do with certain music video content sites not allowing access for macs.

is it possible that the CDR format is only for...cd's? and not dvd's? if you make an image of a CD, and burn it to DVD, it won't play like a DVD...it'll just contain the data that's on the CD. I'm not really familiar with the .CDR disk image format, or where you even got the image made...

i'm interested to know the same - but for XBOX if anybody has experience with that. I know to play the backups back on the XBOX, you need a special mod chip for the console.

i would remove AOL and leave it that way. :) but...have you trashed the preference files for AOL? might want to try that before a reinstall?
