Weird, I noticed when the Powerbook is running on battery the firewire devices don't make that noise. When power adapter is plugged in, the noise reappeared.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, the DVI to VGA adapter works. I can get one screw to tighten, but then the adapter will be slanted and the other side pops out. I tried to push the adapter in as far as I could to tighten both screws but it seems like the screws are too short to "reach" the screw...
