Help beta test new file sharing applicaton!

Did you actually try the application? It is obviously an option to use the internal webserver, only DropShare is much more convenient: 1) You do not need to copy the files to your webserver's directory. 2) With DropShare it is very hard to guess url's, your files are safer. Also you can much...

Help beta test new file sharing applicaton!

Yes, this is true. But all these programs require that the person you send the files to has custom software installed. With DropShare anyone with a browser can download. Also it is very, very simple to use.

Help beta test new file sharing applicaton!

I got the idea when one of my friends wanted to have a copy of the photos I had taken on our trip to Japan. There are quite a lot of photos, actually about 1.5 GB of them. I don't think many mail-servers accept attachments that large... In addition, with DropShare you can also share the...

Help beta test new file sharing applicaton!

I spent the last couple of days to make a small application that I have really missed several times. Often you have files on your computer that you want to share with a friend, but they are too large to send by email and MSN/Icq is just too slow... So, I've created a small program, DropShare...

    DVD-ram data burning

I'll try another disc, to see what happens. I'm not too sure that is the problem though, since Toast and Disc Copy does not recognise the drive. Anyone with the built in superdrive, does it work with Disc Copy? Does it work in Finder?

    DVD-ram data burning

Hi I have recently installed an internal DVD-ram drive in my G4 Server. Supposedly this is the same drive as Apple's superdrive (Hitachi GF2000). It reads CDs and DVDs perfectly and if I look in Apple System Profiler it sais "Apple Disc Burning: Supported". However if I insert a DVD-R 4.7 GB...

    Sharing NFS mounts

In the end I solved the problem the other way round, and it now works perfectly for me. Instead of mounting the Solaris NFS mount, I now export a NFS drive from OSX and mount it on Solaris. This might or might not be a suitable solution for you.

    Sharing NFS mounts

Hi, I working with setting up a MacOSX Server. I want to mount a nfs directory from our Solaris test server in OSX Server, and then share it as a AppleTalk/Windows share. There is no problems mounting the nfs share from the Finder but it is grayed out when I try to share it from the...

    Go Apple Go Apple !!!!!

Then perhaps just the remote, with a nice interface, say with a backlit lcd-display, from which you can control your mp3-music, and dvd-playback. Can be controlled via airport or bluetooth.

    Go Apple Go Apple !!!!!

To make the 'digital hub' really work, I think what you need is a simple way to connect your Mac with your existing stereo and TV. With such a device you could enjoy your dvd:s and mp3:s full quality. A remote control, would be great for it too... I would love to plug that in between my TV...

Finally, Apple steals somthing good from M$

Not only can you copy and paste files now, you can also undo Finder actions! That's new isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong...

Does anyone know where to get developer tools that works with 10.1? 10.1 works nicely, but I cannot use it if I haven't access to CVS... :(

Check out macosrumors.com, there is a whole lot about it. And by the way (not sure if it is true) I read at macrumors.com that OSX 10.1 is now golden master...

    Mixing Cocoa & Carbon

Well, maybe I was a little bit unclear. I don't want it all to be one single application. But the 'light' OS 9 version will be a part of the OS X app as well. So if I can call Carbon from Cocoa, open a few Carbon windows etc, I will be fine. Thanks.

    Darwin and OS 9

If you wan't to play around with Darwin & Xfree86, why not install xfree86 on top of OS X? It is not too hard, and you can play around with many unix programs like gimp, lyx, etc. A good start is using Fink to install it http://fink.sourceforge.net/ .

    JAva and Project builder

Try to run it from the command line and it will probably work fine.

    Mixing Cocoa & Carbon

Hi, Does anyone here have experience of mixing Cocoa and Carbon in one application? Is it at all possible to do? Basically I wan't to write a program with a part that I want to be able to run in both OS 9, and OS X. But half of the program will be OS X only. I would prefer to write as much...
