The problem seems to lie with the relocation of the ambient light sensor from under the speaker grills to the left side of the inbuilt camera. Perhaps its recessed too deeply or not sensitive enough. Unless there's a bright light pointing directly at the screen, the keyboard won't switch off.

That'd mean my effort to import the old mailboxes was in vain. Isn't there a nifty option that'd allow Mail to build an index and when syncing with the pop account, only download what isn't already in the inbox?

On my mac I connect to the internet using a 3g usb modem. I then share this connection with a Windows laptop via Airport and this works fine. Can the current ipod touch utilise such a connection as well?
