Aha! Thanks. Yes, I'm using itunes. I have a 1GB ipod from 5 years ago I think. I had "Songs" selected in the ipod. Selecting "Albums" does what I was looking for. My teacher is wrong, there are stupid questions.

Okay, I've had this ipod thingy for years now. It can't be that other people have the same trouble I do. So, help? If I import songs and then drag them onto my ipod, the result is a jumble of songs sorted by song title. Is there a way to have them grouped by artist/album/track number instead?

I think it's the corresponding folder, for messages that have been sorted on the mail server. So, for example mail in the imap folder "RolexViagraEnlargment" will stay in that folder on the imap server. In other words, what folder mail goes into would be setup on your imap server. For me...

Probably. It's not unable to connect at all, it hangs when trying to copy a message, according to the activity window. It then says an activity couldn't be completed while offline, so it's undoing the action so it can be retried when the account is online again. Connection doctor says connection...

Thanks. I did use Thunderbird on mac, until I discovered the bug. So I can't use it. It's critical that I don't lose email. As for gmail, I want to reduce the amount to which my person information is data mined, so I won't use gmail and I generally reject email sent to me from gmail.
