Printing issue with Intel Netport Express

Since the Netport Ex is older, I think you need to use the lpd protocol for it. In Print & Fax (print & scan), click + to add, select IP printer > lpd, then enter IP address 192.168.1.50, and queue name lpt1_passthru (or try just lpt1).

    Unable to print internet content

I sincerely apologize for the runaround you've gotten. The web site malfunctioned with the html code I was trying to show you, and I wasn't allowed to respond or edit anything from that point. (I'm just a volunteer here - I don't control the web site.) Your idea to use run as script isn't quite...

    internet trouble

Hi, I have Safari 4.1.3 installed on my 10.4 Mac - Profiler reports 3.0.4 for me, too. just FYI. All the .pkg receipts from 3.0 to 4.1.3 are there in the Receipts folder, too.

Lion can not map network drive on os 9.1

OK, thanks for trying. I think your last resort is a software solution like misterme said. The two OSs use different file/creator systems, and you need some way to bridge that.

Lion can not map network drive on os 9.1

I don't have Lion, so I can't test this out... I think that if you copy folders using FTP, you will get the metadata (file type, creator, etc) copied along, because each folder in OS X has a hidden .DS_STORE file that contains the info for every file within. Can you try that?

Lion can not map network drive on os 9.1

What type of file is it? Is there an app on OS 9 that will use/open the file? Have you read about meta data and resource forks and file types, etc? These are slowly evolving in OS X.

Problem connecting to wireless print server

If you tried using the HP Deskjet F4400 series driver from HP, that would explain your problem. The driver from HP (included in OS X, too) is a USB-only driver. It won't work via HP Jetdirect protocol. The F4400 Gutenprint driver would be required. -- but I see here that the F4400 isn't...

    16GB (4x4GB) 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - what brand to buy

(a matter of opinion - not everyone will agree with me...) I treat RAM as a "commodity" - I go to reputable dealers online and buy the cheapest total price (including shipping and taxes, etc). Suggested dealers: http://www.macsales.com/ http://www.newegg.com/ http://www.amazon.com/...

How to setup USB modem on iBook with Mac OS X?

I think the only thing you will need is to go to Network preferences > Show Network Port Configs and then add a new one - USB. And then you'll probably set Configure using DHCP in the TCP/IP section. Try it and give us specific questions (you realize we don't use the version of OS X you have...

Belkin play N600 router print server issues

As far as I can tell, the driver provided by Epson gives you two choices - direct USB and ethernet. It doesn't offer support of a remote print server device. Under OS X, drivers can be written in this manner - they are called monolithic drivers by Apple, and this refers to the fact that the...

Power Mac G5 not powering up properly

Sorry about that - I thought I had edited that to say "Oh, ya, the cuda IS the PMU." I think you're at the point where the only way forward is to try replacing the power supply, and if that doesn't fix it, you know it's the motherboard, and that isn't worth replacing for a powerPC. Review...

Problem printing after Snow Leopard upgrade

The iPrint device is an appletalk-only device. It can't have an IP address. OS X can't print through it (after Tiger 10.4). Cheapest alternative - get a USB-parallel adapter cable. Best long term solution - get a parallel-port print server (TCP/IP type).

Problem connecting to wireless print server

I'm uncertain how things are hooked up now. Do you have an ethernet cable going directly to the HP printer? If so, have you manually set up the IP address of 1) the Mac, and 2) the printer? PS -this is why piggy-backing on someone else's topic isn't recommended. Too easily confused.
