    Repairing OSX in target mode

Awesome! Used Onyx (love it), took 8 gigs of stuff off my hard drive. I have 512 MB of RAM, so that's not it. Safari is snappier than in ages. Thank!

    Repairing OSX in target mode

Hi-- Quick ( I think) question. I installed Tiger on my iMac via Target mode quite a while ago (shortly after Tiger came out, but I don't really know how long it's been). Since then, I've only repaired permissions (which I do regularly) because I don't have easy access to more extensive...

Did a really stoopid thing--pleez help

Doh. To cripple Airport on my daughter's laptop (long story), I copied her AppleAirPort.kext and AppleAirPort2.kext files onto a thumb drive, then trashed the originals. It's crippled alright. Dragging the kext files back in didn't work, of course -- 'AppleAirPort.kext not installed...

    Stealing my neighbour's wifi

Had this problem recently. Tried the fix leydog suggested--didn't resolve the problem satisfactorily. However, replacing the wireless router did. I have a Dlink 624, which I really like, but as it failed, I couldn't keep our computers on our secure network. New 624 (a whole $40 after...

    D-link Secure Networking

WPA provides better encryption and authentication than WEP and is a breeze to set up with a Dlink 624. (I also have one with three Airport-equipped computers securely networked.) Just go to the 'wireless' tab under the Dlink administration menu. Choose the 'WPA-PSK' option instead of WEP. You...

    multiple networks screwing up Airport

Followup to my original post... what actually was going on here was that the wireless router was failing. Once I replaced it, there was no problem for any of our computers to access the home network.

    multiple networks screwing up Airport

We have a WPA2 wireless network in the house. One of our neighbors (I don't know which one) has an open network, and once one of our Airport-equipped computers connects to it, I can't get it to sign in to the house network again (tried restarting, etc.) I've tried setting up different locations...

Hi all -- My daughter's PBG4 has a broken hinge--what a surprise. Anyhoo, found one on eBay for a reasonable sum. Can anyone point me to a link for the step-by-step how to? Thanks.
