try using custom resolution and set it to your lcd's optimal resolution

check your /sw/etc/apt/sources.list for any broken links ;)

did you try deleting the config file? if that still doesn't work, open your terminal and type in '/Applications/Quake3/Quake3.app/Contents/MacOS/Quake3' (change the path if u have quake installed elsewhere). this will start quake normally. after the quake reports error and u get back to os...

still if all firewalls are disabled and you're accessing the net via a router (not directly) active mode won't work afaik.

did you again try both, active and passive mode? did the transcript output change?

so you're behind 2 firewalls? 1 is usually enough ;) try disabling it just for a minute and try connecting to your ftp ;)
