Help…I am trying to totally get rid off MSN, but it seems impossible. I have tried to drag it to trash, tried to find all connected files and MSN is still there…I have tried to upload some uninstall applications, but they do not operate with Mac 10.2.8. Can someone advise how to permanently delete any messenger (MSN and Yahoo) from Mac.

I have done it, but still MSN has some files which can not be remove for some reasons...it drives me crazy! I have been trying to locate all the connected files, but nothing seems to work!

So is MSN trying to open when you log in or something? Or are the tiny, little, leftover files that are still there just bothering you?

I don't want to have MSN on my computer at all. There is a file left which starts installation procsess. This is what I can't get rid off. Is there any way to delete it?

When? When does it start the installation process? When you log in? When you restart? At random times?

Please elaborate -- it's very easy to give too little information, but damn near impossible to give too much. Please elaborate on anything and everything you think is related to this problem. Otherwise, it's like trying to troubleshoot a computer during a blackout in the dark.

Sorry!!
No, it doesn't start automaticlly, but the file is saved in the application folder. It is the instalation file uploaded from MSN. You have to click on it to start installation, but I don't want this file to have on MAC at all. It is the same with Yahoo. I have get rid off all other files, but there must be something which prevents it from removing. When I am trying to move it to trashes it says that the file can not be deleted

If it doesn't start automatically, why would you choose to open it again?

Restart in safe-boot mode (restart while holding the shift key until you see the log-in window)
Drag that installer to the trash, then empty the trash.
If the trash won't empty, hold the Option key while you select empty.
Restart normally.
Check in your System Preferences/Accounts pane, then Login Items tab. If you see any items in that login items window that mentions MSN, microsoft messenger, or Yahoo. click on each line, and click the (-) at the bottom of that window. Unchecking the Hide box won't help you at all.

Got the screen shot with an error message which pops up when I try to put it to trashes.

Thanks for help..I am not good with Mac

Learn how to use a Mac. Highlight any file (don't launch it) and then hold the keyboard board buttons: command button+i at the same time. Think of the command button as the same as a control button on Windows XP.

and MSN is still there..

Could it be that MSN is running when you're trying to trash it? Programs must be quit if you want to delete them, and if MSN is set to auto-launch when you log in and you don't manually quit it, that could prevent it from being trashed perhaps...

Can you check active processes ? Something is strange on this machine.

How can I check active proccesses? Sorry - I am crap with Mac..

MSN is definietly not running when trying to put it to trashes. It was set to auto-launch, but I manage to change it (is it in ussers preferences?)

Just go to /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.
