I have a portable hard disk which I use on my Windows XP System. I have a Chinese friend who has a Mac Air and I plugged my Windows hard drive into his system thinking I could transfer some files to his system.
Time Machine 7.0 was running on his system. Some windows came up and I just clicked on one of the answers. It turns out I formatted my hard drive with a GUID Partition Table. Luckily I did not back up his system, so all my data is still on the disk, but my partition table is probably gone. I have some software which can rebuild Windows partition tables.
Can somebody familiar with both Windows XP and OS X clue me in as to what the best strategy would be to recover my data? I really do not want to lose the data on the hard drive and I am 100% sure that 99% of the data is still on the hard drive, I just need to find it.
If you could suggest any utilities to help in this process I'd greatly appreciate it.
