If I were you, I would definitely go with the MacPro even though it's a few years older. I have the same one (bought new in Feb 07). I had several drives installed and 7 GBs of RAM, which wasn't too bad, but whenever I had to run Photoshop, Illustrator, Parallels and lots of other apps together...

I have a 2007 MacPro and am going to get two 27" Cinema Displays. Since the new displays use mini displayports, they won't connect to my current graphics card. What would be the best (while at the same time, considering price) route to go? Do I need to buy Apple ATI Radeon 5770 @ around $250...

Another option would be to get one of the old white or black [plastic] MacBooks (from about 3 years ago). I used one for 3 years and although it wasn't as powerful as MBPs, I don't really have any complaints.

Yeah -- I didn't realize before the RAM in the Air's were not upgradable. ;)

Only problem with that is the MacBook Air's do not have upgradable RAM, which I'm sure you know, so I'd have to do the upgrade with them.

I know local Apple stores usually just sell the base model computers. Does anyone know if I could buy a MacBook from a store with more RAM than the base model or would I have to order this online from their website? You'd think since it's such an easy thing to do, that this would be possible...
