    Start-Up items?

If you have it in the menu, like I do, then no it won't stay. I just recently switched to MenuMeters, which replaces Net Monitor and CPU Monitor and has a smaller footprint the way I have it set up.

Replaceing the Login Screen Under MacOS X (10.2)

I haven't tried the above mentioned utility, but I have used Visage, but only to change the login background image, althought it looks like it does what else you want to do.

    Really cool screen saver (aquarium)!

Pretty cool putting it on your desktop as well. :D My favorite is either Flurry or Euphoria.

possible to mimic os ~9 behavior?

ASM is great, now shareware. There's also X-Assist (freeware) which I think does everything ASM does, and also adds OS9 windowing (i.e. click on desktop and all finder windows come to the front, same with apps). Another great utility is LiteSwitch, an awesome app switcher.

I don't know about the iBook, but Quicksilvers are not able to read processor temp. I have the same machine and would love to know how cool/hot it runs.

    X.2 UI/features...

cmd-right arrow = next track cmd-left arrow = previous up arrow = raise volume down arrow = lower volume Sounds like yours is all set up already, but in case anyone needs it, there it is. All of those work with or without an iTunes window open.

    "Services" submenu...

There's also cmd-shift-4 then hit spacebar, that'll turn into a "camera" cursor and highlight the foremost window. If you click the mouse button now, it'll take a shot of that window. If you move your cursor over another window, that window will highlight, click your mouse and take a screenshot...

    AppleSystemProfiler command boots Classic!?#

Weird, I did the same thing you did before and I got nothing (back to a prompt). This time it's opening Classic, as you said. I just stuffed the Classic app and ran "AppleSystemProfiler" again and it's opening the one from /Applications/Utilities. There's a cli ASP? I didn't know that.
