iPod treats audiobook tracks like regular music tracks

interesting - hadn't heard of that one; I've found Quick Convert from http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=quickconvert which is another (free) option to batch convert mp3 to m4b -- I know how to do that; He's got another script there which can merge multiple into a file. Any books...

Plug in iPod loses place in mp3 files

While I know that having bookmarkable m4b files means your place will be restored the next time you play that track, I have a somewhat related question with regards to m4a and mp3 files: Playing a non-bookmarkable track (mp3/m4a) and stopping/powering down will allow you to resume playback if...

iPod treats audiobook tracks like regular music tracks

here's a great script that will let you batch convert audio files to bookmarkable M4a audio. http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=quickconvert He has others too, including one that will even merge multiple tracks into a single bookmarkable track.

Always open files with same extension with the same program?

if you want complete control over how things open, I encourage you to check out this sweet shareware configuration dealio, RCDefaultApp -- it gives you default application control over any file extension, filetype (windows switchers: mac uses an additional "resource fork" to stash the default...

    iTunes off network storage

I have pointed my iTunes library at a mounted smb share (it's on a win2k box elsewhere in the house). This works great, until I launch iTunes when that share is not mounted. This causes iTunes to forcibly change my preferred iTunes Libary location to its default somewhere in my user account's...

    display sleep questions

Two quick questions with regards to controlling monitors. 1.) G5 w/ 23" Cinema Display... How can i manually tell the display to go to sleep? I've heard some people say that their Display panel has an Options tab which lets them define what happens when hitting the power button on the...

    Mail won't stay quit!

Weird. Everytime I quit Mail.app 2.0.2 it relaunches itself within 2-3 seconds. This is on MacOSX 10.4.2. I've rebooted & it doesn't seem to matter.

    Flash stop action in buttons

Natobasso: your different way of thinking is actually the same thing as what I said. "gotoAndStop" is the actionScript command for having the playback head "go" to a frame. However, since you don't want it to get to that image & then scrub through every other image in sequence (since they're...

    Flash stop action in buttons

frame actions don't work *in* buttons. object actions can be assigned *on* buttons (by selecting button on stage). this is where you'd put your button event handler. simplest solution is to have a layer for art. place a keyframe for each piece. have another layer for buttons. just one...

    Type rasterizes in iMovie

i had that problem (though it seemed limited exclusively to previewing in iMovie - sending a clip to iDVD made it crisp & fine). Now that I've updated to iLife '05, even previews seem fine. Note that the clips compressed for web Streaming are what, 240x180? Not a lot of res for crisp text...

10.3.8 & Security update hosed webcore??

We just updated our iBook to the most recent OSX (10.3.8) and did the other Security update dealio. Ever since, webcore (i think) seems completely jacked & crashes any app trying to use it. 1.) We've seen a crash as soon as Safari tries to open any page, be it something on the internet or...

iPhoto - Can photos be deleted off HDD from an album?

I love iPhoto for organizing my photos & doing some basic retouching (when Photoshop doesn't need to come in for heavy digital darkroom). However, I often find that I sort things into Albums & then realize that some of the photos could really be deleted (e.g. when I bracket, when some turn out...
