I see "Step Forward Frame by frame" in DVD Player, but I would like to step backward also... I see nothing... Is there a way to do this in Apple DVD Player or, if not, can anyone recommend a DVD player program that will allow this along with keyboard control. Trans Lucy does allow Jog/Shuttle...
What I meant was that since it is MS that the Apple Store would not offer an Academic/Educational price (although they might - I don't know)... Based on what I've seen it does not appear that that MS has an educational version proper, but maybe they will in the near future.

Viro,
The Upgrade version to move from VPC 6 -> VPC 7 goes for $ 99, but it is not out yet, you can pre-order it, however. I am not sure if there is an academic version, but since it is MS, I doubt it, but what do I know...?
Your welcome, Jeepster.
Another good idea is to search the discussion board. Almost every-time I have had a problem a quick search of the discussion board usually results in an answer. Great resource...!

Can anyone recommend a good T/C converter for the Mac? I need to convert 1080P 23.98sf to NTSC and/or PAL and vice versa. Most interested in freeware/shareware, but if it is a commercial app, that's okay too.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

I am unable to mount a drive from Virtual PC 6.1. I was able to do so until this weekend. I have rebooted the Mac, repaired permissions, etc. I have no idea why it would work and then all of a sudden wouldn't. Any help?

Just in case anyone looks at this for the answer themselves in the future.
FROM MICROSOFT:
Virtual PC does not support direct access of PC Card or PCMCIA Devices from Virtual PC's virtual machine.
I have the worst luck with computer hardware - as soon I buy something an upgraded version is released at the same price. I want to buy a 17" PowerBook which was last upgraded Sept. 2003, but Apple seems to upgrade on a schedule of approx. 7-9 months, so that means maybe the 17" PB may be due...
I need a Windows machine for work, but want a 17" G4 PowerBook for me
I need to run Windows and must access a RS-232 serial port interface. If I insert a PCMCIA card with an RS-232 adapter, can I access the PCMCIA card from Virtual PC.
Just want to make sure before I spend $ 3,000...
I know this is many months later, but just wanted to follow up. What I finally ended up doing was just re-installing OSX from my install disk - I reformatted the HD and re-installed fresh! It has been fine since then.
Thanks,

Thanks for the responses, one thing to clarify, the video does not actually play on the computer - the video plays from a HIDEF tape and plays back on a pro monitor in my QC room, the only thing that the computer does is reads and captures the T/C (Timecode) from the tape and then converts and...
