I am planning to do a clean install of Mac OS X Lion on my Mac but I don't want to mess up my iPhone sync. So how do I backup my iTunes so that after a fresh Lion install, I can continue to use my iPhone without any sync issues.

Okay good, now I'd like to believe that my iTunes music and my iPhoto collection will also be safe along with the contents in Downloads folder. I have manual backup of my stuff but not a bootable one!

Oh yes I pause the transfers before quitting Transmission, thinking that quitting without pausing may case loss of data!! It works like you said but are you sure there is no data loss in doing so ??
