I just bought a Powerbook and it has both pieces of the power adapter, but it's missing the little thing you slide on when you seperate the extension. What do you call it? I'm trying to pick one up on Ebay or buy it somewhere. I don't need a whole new power adapter. Thanks!

Buy a CD/DVD drive drive cleaner. It's a disc with little mini brushes. That fixed the problem for me.

I have a P4 3GHz..... and it works with a monitor still. TechRestore is 699 + 100 to fix the hinge........... a new Powerbook would be 1999 w/ education discount. I think I could get 500 for my Powerbook.. so it's either 700 to fix it or 1500 to buy a new one ... :/

I forgot to zip the laptop compartment of my backpack. Soon as I got outside of my house, it flew out and the LCD cracked. Wegenermedia and Techrestore do the repair for $650-699. Do you think I should repair it or sell it on Ebay? I could get a new Powerbook from school with the education...

I think it will be suicide if Apple holds out on G5 Powerbooks so they are working on it at all costs. My best bet is it's going to be a underclocked G5 so it won't take as much power and create that much heat. I expect an announcement by Summer 05. Shipping end 05 - early 06.
