    The drive seems to be having mechanism problems as well... Argh! I'll put a CD in and it won't always mount. It just sits in there and then gets spit out. At least it comes out I guess. Maybe I should stop using it as a wheel chalk for my SR-71.. hehe :) -Y

    I know about the eject "hole". mine is a little rubber nub with a button behind it. pushed and pushed and pushed and the CD won't come out.

    I tried your suggestions. If I type /bin/tcsh I get: zsh; exec format error: /bin/tcsh When I type nidump psswd / I get usage: nibump [-r] etc known formats: Aliases bootptab etc etc.. does this tell you anything?

    well, that's interesting. I DL'd and ran Norton Anit-virus beta of v8 and it went and deleted over 1200 of these file. Problem solved. I just wish I knew how they all got there. I wasn't running anythin but the normal OS X server stuff.. afp, ftp, wfs... etc.
