    New look of macosx.com?? (10/5/2002)

The new look makes my eyes strain. I have since changed my theme. Admin: I don't think you should remove the old theme. Just gives people the option. If I couldn't change the theme to something easy on my eyes, I wouldn't use the site at all. Finito. iFunk

    How does THIS look?...

I am at work right now, and just looked at your site on the PC here. It looks shocking! The reason is because IE on PC does not support 32-bit transparent PNGs. It displays, but the transparency don't work as expected. Also, I think the new look of macosx.com really sux arse! Too hard to...

    How does THIS look?...

This is a better solution than provided by Lazzo: <a href="link.htm" onFocus="this.blur();">Link</a> It works all the time (never will show border), with all browsers and is short and sweet. And also works with any type of object (images, links, image maps, etc). Also, If you put it on...

    iTunes 2 CPU usage

With my mac (iMac DV SE Graphite 400mhz 256MB), I can't run iTunes in the background while using other programs. It ALWAYS crashes from lack of memory within half an hour. If I run it in the foreground, it will run happy, but as soon as I open up a few other programs and try to work in them...

    Clock in 10.1.2 gets slower

obviously your batteries in your wall clock are too powerful, and this is making the clock faster and fool you into thinking your computer is losing time... beware of the clock...

    All wireless all the time

I'd call it a pain in the ass! Voice-recognition in nothing like you would want it to be. Do it now, open up speech control panel and try and work with that. (never tried on mac os x though) Its very cool, I admit that... but its still limited. iFunk™

    All wireless all the time

I don't know if this is possible or not, but wouldn't it be cool if the mouse and keyboard drew power from the main base wirelessly? That means no batteries and will always be charged. This might be possible cause I know USB can charge power through a cord, but then again, I am no electrical...

I am going to shoot myself in the face

I am under the assumption that you need two video cards to have two monitors. Unfortunately, I don't know of any that work through firewire etc, (only PCI) so I doubt that it is possible to do anything else except video mirroring through the VGA out port. iFunk

OS X.2 What do YOU want??

I just remembered.... I want Command-X to cut an object in the finder... sometimes when downloading files, they still have the broken icon (although when double-clicked they open up in the appropriate program) -- not sure if this is the finder or carracho, but this annoys me for those...

OS X.2 What do YOU want??

I'd like to see.... - location/address bar like windows... (optional of course..) - better finder response (although i am on iMac DV SE 400mHz) - faster - not bring down my system when using itunes and other apps cause i only have 256MB RAM - better networking features (how you connect to...

    mail() in PHP

Hello there, I know there is tonnes of tutorials around but I have looked and found no success. I want to figure out how to configure PHP to send mail through my mail server (Communigate). My mail server works, and I've changed mail.php in some settings and chose my server etc for the...

    Oh, say, can you 'C'?

I love PHP. Its such a beautiful language. The syntax got me confused at first and my first test was a parse error (how convenient) :) but now its like a second language (wait it is a second language - or maybe 4th). I used to find javascript syntax confusing (although still able to make my own)...

    Oh, say, can you 'C'?

Hi, Just wondering why you said not PHP. I suppose you're not joking. But it seems that some of the syntax of PHP is the same as Objective-C like other languages such as these... using ; at the end of a command containing functions and stuff inside {} comments are the same // & /* */...

Why is OSX picky on RAM?

I installed OSX maybe a month a go or something (a couple of weeks after 10.1 came out -- i think) and its probably crashed on me 7 or 10 times so far - and I have only used OSX since I installed it -- very much adequate for my needs. I discovered that using iTunes 1, playing a midi in QT...

My OsX vs Win Xp comparison

I just tested it... yah its cool.... its not true multiple desktops (like i have seen on redhat) but it provides basically the same functionality but you are able to keep some things global (such as the dock) although if you minimize something in one space, and go to another space, it...

My OsX vs Win Xp comparison

This is slightly off topic - but you can have multiple desktops or workspaces.. its called Space.dock. Its on the latest Mac Addict Disc. About to install it, I'll tell yas how it goes.

Audio brings OS X 10.1 to a crashing halt

I think I tried updating the firmware when iTunes first came out (you know that time -- january this year) but it wasn't successful - said I didn't have the correct model or something (which I do). The update was meant to fix some audio stuff, but it was meant to speed up the ripping of cd's to...

Audio brings OS X 10.1 to a crashing halt

Hey all, I've had really bad experiences with audio on OS X 10.1. I'm running it from an external Firewire hard drive, and every time I've used iTunes, it has crashed within half an hour (kernel panic). Everything stops responding and I have to force restart. Got 256MB of RAM etc... And...
