Wallstreet and OSX - Flaky when running from Battery

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes - I know I have a bunch of upgrades to my trusty Wallstreet. More than RAM, I'm actually more concerned that my BlueChip 466 upgrade may be the cause of the problem. I just found a new cache controller released for OS X by Powerlogix. There have been rumors...

Wallstreet and OSX - Flaky when running from Battery

Hello all. I have been very frustrated as of late when using OS X.1.1 on my upgraded PB G3 Wallstreet (466 MHz/256 MB RAM/30 GB HD). OS X would crash repeatedly in to kernal panics, random freezes, applications quitting unexpectedly, etc. THe most serious offenders seemed to be IE and...

    Frequent Crashes

Hello all, I have a PB Wallstreet upgraded to 466/1MB backside cache/20 GB hard drive. I'm running OS X.1.1. I'm running the beta-version of the Wireless driver for my Wavelan Wi-Fi PCMCIA card. I'm having VERY frequent crashes into the debugger. Is this a "kernal panic"? It can happen at...

PPP problems with OS X on Wallstreet

Well, I take some solace in knowing that mine is not a unique situation. Does anyone know of a powerbook/wallstreet specific site for OSX that we can turn to in the future?

PPP problems with OS X on Wallstreet

Hi all, I've been using OS X.1 (and .1.1) for a while now but I still can't get my Wallstreet G3's internal modem to connect. I have a Wallstreet G3 upgraded using a Bluechip 466/1 MB with an upgraded 18 GB HD and 256 MB RAM. I have never been able to connect to anything using my...

    hiding a partition/HD

This is kind of a kludge but it works... In the Finder preferences, uncheck the show disks option. Now make aliases to only the Hard Disks you want and then move them to the desktop. You can also change the icons for the aliases to some better ones than the ugly generic HD icon.

    Changing Fonts in the Finder

Found something cool that does almost everything I need... check out TinkerTool2 at: <http://www.bresink.com/osx/index.html> It's great!

    Changing Fonts in the Finder

I've somehow managed to change the display font in the Finder and I have no idea how. Both my desktop icons (the HD images and any icons I place on the desktop) and my Finder windows are now using different fonts (I think) and look very ugly. I searched through the system prefs but I can't...

    Grid Spacing in Finder

Any hints on how to change the monstrously wide icon grid spacing in the Finder? Thanks!

Wireless Drivers for PB G3 Series

Interesting development: Thanks to Yuriwho for the tips and history but another little glitch: I reformatted my hard drive to take advantage of the fact that the 8 GB installation limit for PBG3 series systems has been removed. OSX now resides on the first partition which is 14 GB...

Wireless Drivers for PB G3 Series

I just installed OS 10.1 on my G3 series/266/256MB/40GB and I'm trying to install drivers for my Lucent Wavelan card. As far as I can tell there are two common sources for these drivers. One is from "yuriwho" and the other is "rob mckeever" - actually, I think they are the same person. In...
