    Network problem

It's apparently an issue with the software and not a hardware issue. She has the AppleCare plan and called, and their recommendation was to use an ethernet cable. Blech. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1603263&tstart=0 Here you can see the apple support page on the issue.

    Network problem

My friend is having a similar problem with her brand new Intel iMac. She has a relatively new Apple Airport base station as well. Her MacBook and work PC have no problems with internet access. She is running the latest version of the Mac OS with all updates. Her signal drops intermittently and...

    Lost album artwork on iTunes

Hi everyone, I recently did something stupid. I upgraded my iMac to Leopard and failed to backup the associated artwork for my albums. I store all my music on a network drive through my AEBS. Well, I have all my artwork on my iPod. Does anyone know how I can restore the artwork from my iPod to...

Everything the iPhone Can't Do, Let's Talk!

I'm not so sure. It looks like it may be difficult to do with the Trusted Computing processor that is in the iPhone. I'm sure it'll be done, but it'll probably take a little longer, like 3 weeks

    My Review: iPhone Rocks

I love my iPhone. The battery life is simply amazing, the screen clarity is amazing, the ease of use is ridiculously easy. All in all, I don't have any real complaints. I am looking forward to updates, however, perhaps with the addition of iChat. I would also like the option to select a home...

Experts, please help me with a response about security issues for the iPhone.

Actually, the question that I really have is with regards to the second paragraph. It won't sync with Outlook, and many people who are buying this device won't have macs at work. Now, that said, I think most email configurations are either POP3 or IMAP, so I can't figure out why the phone would...

Experts, please help me with a response about security issues for the iPhone.

Just Say NO to iPhone You are going to be asked (or already have been) to hook up the iPhone to your network's email system in some way. The problem is that the only protocol the iPhone supports is IMAP and that just does not cut it. The iPhone cannot work like a RIM BlackBerry or Windows...

imac starts, shuts down and restarts without stopping

Turn off the computer and unplug everything from all ports (including the power cable). Then, plug in mouse and keyboard followed by the power cable only. At this point boot from your install discs. Format the harddrive and install the OS fresh. Once install is complete see if it boots normally...

    ITunes not burning cd's

Have you burned using that particular disc before? Sometimes I find certain discs are not as mac friendly as others. Try resetting your PRAM and run disk utility to repair permissions.

Selling my G4 - Any ideas on price?

I think that you should try eBay. I sold an old G3 iBook for 350. I think that you could probably get 700 for it at the high end.

Dell, others beat Apple on environmental standards

Apple is at the forefront of computer manufacturers. They are doing the best they can with the technology afforded to them. Using a more green battery product, for example, would decrease the playback time on an iPod significantly, as well as erode in usage far more quickly than the current...

Norway et al. against the iPod/iTunes

Trust me, M$ did not bail out Apple because of the UK. There were already other choices such as OS/2, Sun's OS, Linux and Unix. Small, yes, but yet still competitors. I think that one of the major reasons why M$ kept Apple in business was so they could get some great ideas from them, partially...

Norway et al. against the iPod/iTunes

Ah, but Apple does not only distribute the content. As part of their distribution agreement, they are supposed to protect this music from illegal trade. Thus, Apple does 'own' the content they distribute to a point. The boundaries are that they are supposed to do what they can to prevent piracy...

Norway et al. against the iPod/iTunes

Well, at the moment, you can still buy music from iTMS, then burn it to a CD. Then you can reencode this as an mp3, thus allowing the media to be placed onto any mp3 player. If Apple where to start slipping with regards to quality, that is when there are many, many firms who'll be able to jump...

Norway et al. against the iPod/iTunes

Of course it has occured to me. That's not the issue. The issue is that forcing a company to open up something that pulls in maybe 10 million USD in a country like Norway is ridiculous. Actually, Apple still supports other mp3 players via iTunes on Mac OSX, just not for the iTMS. Here's the...

Norway et al. against the iPod/iTunes

Okay, here's a recent news story on Fox news about Norway and their ambitions to open up iTunes. Same story we've heard about France, etc. They feel that the music sold on iTunes should be allowed to be played on any mp3 player. The argument in Norway is "If Apple can require an iPod for songs...

    Bootcamp Switchers

I partially disagree. My girlfriend is switching except for the rare occassion to use the stats programs. She wants to use OS X as the primary OS, whe only needs access to 2 software packages, and that's on very rare occasion. Therefore I am hooking her up with a Mac. She likes how it looks and...

    Bootcamp Switchers

Hey, sorry but for another 500 bucks, we aren't going to get it. Plus AMOS does not work on the Mac. It's a must have. Therefore she'll use the MacOS X for everything except for the statistical program. Plus she loves how my iMac looks. But I use SPSS on the Mac. However, I have to switch to...

    Bootcamp Switchers

My girlfriend is now considering switching because of this. She needs to use SPSS and AMOS (as do I) and they only work under Windows. So this gives her the last little oomph to buy a Mac now that her Dell laptop is crapping out.

    Unbeliveable

I still wouldn't rule out a logic board issue... There is some hardware issue here that is not necessarily related to your harddrive. Do you have aftermarket RAM installed?
