    Synergy for iTunes

Yes, Synergy has the ability to set hot keys for many iTunes functions like volume up or down. No it doesn't have the visual graphic volume slider which would require you to mouse over and precisely slide it where desired. I prefer keystrokes whenever possible though. I suppose you could use the...

    Synergy for iTunes

Adding album cover art to iTunes does increase the file size of the songs which can be a problem for iPod users conserving space. Unless you have a Photo iPod you won't see album covers on the iPod. Synergy has a menu item "Show Album Covers Folder" to help get to the artwork.

I believe the PC will remember the password hex for you, like the Mac does. If you generate the password on the PC there will be a long hex key to enter on the Mac! And it may require a dollar sign in front. Your best bet (if the PC doesn't do the memorization) is to paste the key into a text...

Linksys WPC11, Windows95 and Airport Extreme

Glad to help! Yes the PC doesn't use the same friendly Mac password. From the Airport Admin Utility after enabling the WEP password go to the Base Station menu and select Equivalent Network Password. That will give you the password to use on a PC.

Linksys WPC11, Windows95 and Airport Extreme

This sounds like it's looking for a proxy server without success. On the PC go to Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings and uncheck the three proxy settings boxes there. It may not solve your problem but it will change the error message to just say "Server Not Found" quicker! :D Those...

    connecting to Mac behind Airport

Yes you use Airport Admin Utility to configure the base station to pass whatever port traffic you need to a fixed IP on the wireless client. What kind of connection did you want - File Sharing, FTP, Timbuktu,...? See this document for more details...

Does your Mac use proxy settings also? Are they set the same as the PC? If you have no proxy settings on the Mac you need to change the PC to connect directly (no proxies).

The sniffer utility probably provides the visual indicator on your task try. My wife's PC has a 3 Com card with a similar utility and it tells the signal strength for her connection to my Airport Base Station. The Windows network setup is a separate but necessary step. She's running Windows 98...

    Laptop changing ip address

Without changing anything on the router, why not set a manual IP instead of DHCP? Don't use one of the numbers within the range of DHCP numbers used by the router but keep it within the same subnet. In other words if the router assigns numbers in the 192.168.1.100 to 150 range, set a static IP...

Linksys WPC11, Windows95 and Airport Extreme

The SSID is the Airport Network Name you assigned in the Airport Admin Utility. Since you have a link light it sounds like it is connected. You said Windows95 which I'm not sure about! Right-click Network Neighborhood and double-click the TCP/IP for Linkysy (or whatever it says). Set it to...

    eMac problems?

Our school district bought over 200 eMacs very early in their production. About 20 have failed for video problems already and Apple is replacing them. When they work right they are fine but it sure seems like they didn't have very good quality controls on the production line!
