    Moving iPhoto Library Extremely Slow

Sorry, ParkerSmith Is right, the Library file is treated as a Folder and needs the -r switch to recurse the directories and files within.

    Using Mail in OSX Lion

You could view ALL of the headers by selecting the message, Click View Menu, Messages, then View All Headers. It's not exactly what you are looking for, but it should show you what you need to see.

Upgrading MacMini With Broken CD Drive

DeltaMac: I didn't take into consideration that it was a G4 PPC Mini. I simply assumed it was a broken DVD drive, and provided instructions on how to make a bootable usb stick from a Install DVD. The instructions WILL do as I suggest, but DeltaMac is right, an Intel Install will not work on...

Upgrading MacMini With Broken CD Drive

Step 1:Insert the OS X installation DVD and plugin the USB Drive. (Probably on someone elses computer.) Step 2:Open Disk Utility, under /Applications/Utilities. Step 3:Drag the “Mac OS X Install DVD” to the “Source” field and the formated partition on your USB drive to “Destination”. Do...

    Mail Rules Not Working

Make sure that in each rule, you do not have a condition set for 'Account' - or that if you do, it's for the right account. It sounds like you have multiple accounts on Mail now, and that the rules probably don't have an account to apply them to.

    No keyboard input after MONOLINGUAL

You should be able to access the Optional Installs folder of the Mac OS X Install DVD and there will be a package in there. Open it, and you will hopefully have the option to install other languages that are included on the disc. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50625

    Finding and Deleting iPhoto Duplicates

I use an app called 'iPhoto Library Manager' - I was able to merge multiple iPhoto libraries together (from various macs around the house) and there is a setting to 'merge without duplicates'. It even merges locations, faces, Events, folders, smart folders, and notes on the photos. It was worth...

    Bulk Read-Write permission changes

I do a lot of copying back and forth between different computers and Operating Systems. Occasionally, this causes permissions/owners of files to get ‘locked’. For example, If I copy files from my Windows 7 computer to my Mac, the files will be locked to the user on the Windows Computer...

    Moving iPhoto Library Extremely Slow

You are right: Zipping the library will usually make it faster, but not by that much. I suggest using a UNIX command like 'cp' cp /Volumes/Path/To/Filename/Source/File /Volumes/Path/To/Filename/Destination/File It seems to eliminate the Finder slowdown. I had to do this to copy my 80GB...

Can't Delete All of Trash Even with Trash It

As another solution: if it's a hackintosh, you should be able to boot from a live CD like Ubuntu or a USB disk or something; from there, you could delete anything from the drive including the .trash / .trashes file. Have you tried moving the files OUT of the trash? It seems to me that there...

Help me remove my wife from my App Store!

as far as finding files: I have found spotlight to be useless aside from a quick launcher of apps. I use an app called "EasyFind" which I have mapped to lauch on ctrl-F (I use an key mapper called "Spark" to make this work.) EasyFind searches the whole drive, directories etc. and invisible...

Help me remove my wife from my App Store!

Check iTunes -> HomeSharing and make sure you or your wife didn't link the accounts there. HomeSharing requires one 'master' AppleID account in order to file share between iTunes. It may have linked them. Just a thought.

    the dreaded file sharing help

Some Routers (my d-link included) have a 'guest zone' wi-fi connection. Make sure you are connecting to your Internal /Secure wifi - the 'guest zone' wi-fi is specially firewalled on the router to disallow viewing other computers on the network.

    iTunes damaged

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449 Basically: 1. Select the "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" checkbox in Prefs. 2. Click the Change button in the iTunes Media folder location pane and pick the new folder you want your music to be stored in. 3. From the File menu, choose Library...

Mail not sending from "mail" since lion, and another question.

I have found that sometimes, (like with google/gmail) the server will bump you off the SMTP server for accessing it too many times - it thinks you are a spammer. OS X Mail sees this as a password fail, and gives you one chance to correct it. If you don't change anything, it will just fail...
