I think this needs to be done... eventually. Although, 10.3 would be too soon. About 4 years after Apple stops selling computers with G3 processors would be more likely. The G3 should have support until about 2006-2007. So I wouldn't worry too much. The Mach-O kernel should be abandoned...

You accuse Apple of taking the "Microsoft way", and yet in your review of Jaguar the only thing you do is an obvious new features list... you sound like you've been a Windows user all your life (you only look for obvious new features you'll never use anyway but somehow justify cost and upgrade)...

The way firewalls work you deny/allow based on the first rule to the last. So if rule #3 says deny and then rule #4 says allow, it'll deny. If something isn't defined as allow/deny it is deny by default. So the last rule in your firewall correctly is "allow all else." Cheers, Dak

Well, just started looking at the code and already in the first inner table (besides the main one) I see a problem. The table's width is defined as 633 pixels. The table has 3 columns (td), one of 160 width, one of 312 and one of 150. A bit of the code was a little jumbled in there...

A network using USB? I'm sorry but that's just inane. All I can think is that they're trying to force some non-standard NIC card on you or something. If standard TCP/IP signals are sent over the line though I assume there's some converter along the way that converts the signals for USB...

Not sure how accurate the figures are at Geek.com, although they have a section there labeled ChipGeek with specs on quite a few processors, some complete, some not. Although it may serve your purpose. Cheers, Dak

I'll second that :) I'd probably have some *nix computer just to keep up to date and keep all my Macs up and running, develop for them and absolutely refuse to let go of them :) If people think Amiga followers are fanatical they have yet to see someone try to take away a Mac owner's computer...

An Athlon produces far more heat than a PowerPC does. Easily up to 70 watts+. The G4 in comparison draws only about 11.5 watts for the 7400 model (up to 450MHz), and even the 1GHz Apollo only pulls about 21.3 watts. I believe the low power model in the TiBooks is under 10 watts. That's why...
