New problem: Apps now 'unexpectedly quit' frequently

Well, I can't really pinpoint the timing only to say in the last week or two. I think perhaps this occurred after the update to Entourage 10.1.4, but that is just a guess.

New problem: Apps now 'unexpectedly quit' frequently

Hi all, Strange new problem that I wondered if anyone had an idea about. All of a sudden, I'm getting a series of "the application unexpectedly quit" error messages. I'm using a G3/500 MHz iMac with 1 GB of RAM and OS 10.2.6. The only application that used to crash with any kind of...

    Thoughts on tabbed browsing

Well, shows who is smartest in my family! It's the wife! In my toolbar, I had a bunch of individual sites, not folders, so I couldn't understand the benefits of tabbed browsing. Recently, I put folders in my toolbar because I have such an overwhelming amount of bookmarks and I put folders of...

    Thoughts on tabbed browsing

When Safari first came out, a lot of folks began yelling for tabbed browsing. I hadn't used it before and was curious what the fuss might be about. As a result, at that time, I downloaded a browser (can't remember which) and tried tabbed browsing. My reaction then was the same as it is now...

    G5 vs. 17" PowerBook vs. 17" iMac

I know this has been debated at other times, but I'm serously considering the purchase of either a low-end G5, a 17-inch PowerBook or a 17-inch flat-panel iMac. Right now, I have a 500 MHz G3 iMac with a 20 GB hard drive and 1 GB of RAM. I have an external CD-RW burner (QUE!) Anyway, I mostly...

    Disk Warrior

I just wanted to give props to Alsoft and make anyone else aware of an issue I recently faced. I was having a strange keychain problem that I absolutely couldn't fix. I was in the Apple Store in Las Vegas on April 16 and asked the Mac Genius. He suggested I get Disk Warrior. However, they...

Moving stuff from old G4 to new 12inch PowerBook

I bought my wife a new 12-inch PowerBook today and we're debating how to move her applications, documents, photos, etc. from one to the other. The old computer is a G4 450 with 512 MB. I plan to initialize the hard drive on that and sell it once we've made the transition to the PB full-time...

    Safari bookmark toolbar disappeared!

Thanks. I looked all over the place and don't know how I didn't see it, but I didn't. I appreciate the help, though. Thanks a million. Kevin

    Safari bookmark toolbar disappeared!

I have a G3 iMac with 1 GB of RAM running OS 10.2.4. I'm using Safari v60 All of a sudden, I'll lost the bookmark toolbar. I went to a site and I noticed it was gone. I hit command-N to open a new window and it didn't show there. Safari has worked remarkably well for me to this point. Any...

    LaunchBar

If anyone has used LaunchBar, could you tell me how to assign a code to open an e-mail to the people I write to most? I read, for instance, that I can theoretically type 'JOE' and a blank e-mail addressed to my friend Joe will open in Entourage. I'd like to try this, but can't figure out how to...

    You're favorite shareware apps

I should have also mentioned in my previous post the magnificent Watson. It blows Sherlock away, IMHO. ___http://www.karelia.com/watson/

    You're favorite shareware apps

My favorites are the aforementioned GraphicConverter and Weather Pop. I also like Window Shade very much. It brings back the collapsible window feature that I find so useful. http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/wsx/

    Safari is awesome!

Two thumbs up for Safari. I used to use Chimera but in my opinion, Safari is far better. I think it will be the best browser ever released when the final version comes out. I hope it's soon! This is quite a product for a Beta. Kevin

17-inch iMac vs. Yao Ming powerbook

Just wondering ... If you were in the market for a new Mac, would you prefer the 17-inch iMac or the large new PowerBook? Is the portability worth the price increase? Anything the PowerBook does that the iMac doesn't ? or vice versa? I've always preferred desktop, but I'll admit, these new...

Drag and drop in OS X 10.2.3

The Apple Knowledge Base has an article on this that isn't much help in that it suggests updating to 10.2.2 to fix this. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107247 Obviously, you guys are at 10.2.3 and the same behavior is occurring. I would e-mail Apple at the link below to let them...

Exporting contacts from Entourage to Address Book

I can't figure how to export my contacts from Entourage to Address Book. Address book only accepts imports from vCard and LDIF and Entourage only seems to export .txt files. I put a .vcf extension once and all it did was save all of the contacts in one big jumped vcard that was of little use...

Now have broadband ... but what a day

I have a good story about finally making the move to broadband from dialup. I'm sitting here now with this wireless 1.5 Mbps Internet connection and I think I've died and gone to Heaven --_but what a trip getting here! My wife and I have our offices in bedrooms at opposite ends of the house...

Suggestions on OS X e-mail application

Does anybody have a suggestion for an OS X e-mail program other than Entourage (which I'm using now) or Apple's Mail that can handle multiple accounts and has a calendar/address book? Thanks, Kevin

    Deleting a keychain

slur, unfortunately, i've tried those and neither worked. This is a strange one. The headline of the Knowledge Base document is How to Remove and Recreate an Inaccessible Keychain, but they don't tell you what to do if the keychain gets a life of its own and doesn't want to be removed.
