Need to know NOW!!...can a PC read DVD-RW?

He doesn't have it:( I just went the easy route out...I burned the DVD-RW, and then burned a DVD player application on a CD-R, and burned a second copy of the presentation in quicktime format on a CD-RW, and tested it on the PC...just to be sure. I figure one of them HAS to work.

Last week, I had a project due, and did it in Keynote, and then exported into Powerpoint, but when I got to class, it wouldn't work on the PC (a CD-RW/DVD combo drive compaq)we used for presentations. Can you even BUY a non DVD machine? I'm not sure about the emacs, but all other current apple machines support DVD, and with the price of a PC DVD drive, I imagine almost all PC's do as well.

    Panther kills external FW drives

So does this mean I shouldn't use my iPod as a hard drive to pack my data up? Or is this referring to booting off of an external drive? I'm a bit confused.

    considering an ipod if...

I'm pretty sure that if you mount the iPod as a firewire hard drive, you can browse it in iTunes, and play the songs straight from the iPod. If you can't do it natively, there are plenty of apps that let you do just this. Try ipodhacks.com, iPodlounge.com

Suggestions! How can Apple better penetrate the PC Market?

Give it up...Mac OS X on the x86 will NEVER HAPPEN. Apple isn't a software company...the only reason they make OS X, or any other software, is to sell their hardware. Who in their right minds would buy a $3,000 G5 when a $1,000 x86 PC could run the same OS and all the same programs? Does Windows...
