    i have the exact same problem. ever since ATT changed to the new service or whatever ... i have my computer drop connection if it goes for any lengthy amount of time without something happening. i have to reboot the thing for it to work.. this seems to grab it a new dhcp address.

    I have no idea how to get my cable modem to work with macosx. I have the TCI/AT&T @home cable internet service. The thing works fine with os9. I think the problem is that osx (at least as far as i can tell) has no place to put in my dhcp client ID. Without having a place for this...
