Allowing only certain users to ssh

I've tried all the suggestions, allowusers with the usernames I would like to allow, and denyusers with just his. I've tried upper and lower case, but I can still ssh with that account. Is the format: "AllowUsers username1 username2" or am I missing something?

Do I need to restart to make this active, or is there another way? I added denyusers, but it still lets the account log in via ssh

Allowing only certain users to ssh

I recently added a user account for a friend so that he could host a small website on my server. I want him to have ftp access, but no ssh access. I have been searching on the web for about an hour or so, and I think my answer lies in adding a "allowuser" command in the ssh_config file, but I...

Can't delete a user account from 2 different computers

I have a problem that is driving me nuts. I have created a user account with the same name on both of my macs. Both running os 10.2.8, one a G4, the other an iBook... The user name is mikeoxbig, and I can't delete it from either machine. Both do the same thing: when I hit delete, it asks...

Controlling a Mac remotely via the Internet

sharing my music folder with windows users

You just need to create a symbolic link... you can do that in the terminal, just type "ln -s [source file] [target file]" so if you wanted to create a link to your music folder in a users music folder (we'll call the user joe for now) you would type "ln -s ~/music /Users/joe/Music/music"...

    weird trouble with programs closing

Well, I got it fixed. I have 2 hard drives, one with 10.2.8, and one with 10.3, and I noticed that when I right clicked, and chose open with the apps that were the default were on 10.3... Since I don't 10.3 much, I deleted that drive, restarted, and BINGO! it worked! :)
