I had the same problems with my m100 and my TiBook via IrDA. Even resulted in my first kernel panic in 10.1. But I might try this resetting, maybe it works out. Maybe just logging out an in again frees the IrDA port, did you try?

Alexandert: yes, IrDA works fine with 10.1.2, I can connect to the net via my mobile phone using IrDA. But synching my palm just doesn't work. Since I don't have a USB cable for it I don't know if it works at all with my setup. I really hope Palm gets some working software on the way soon.

I think the (white) iBook has such a port. I think I saw it on my brothers. But it wouldn't make sense to plug a cinema display onto an iBook, because of the resolution.

Really? It is not working on my TiBook 400 (and Palm m100). I cannot sync via IrDA using the Palm desktop Beta. It's just not connecting. Even got a kernel panic (my first and only in 10.1). So it might depend on the machines you're using.

Hi, with my Siemens mobile phone it works (finally) under 10.1.2 (TiBook 400). I just copied the modem description file from OS 9s system folder into the library/modem (something like that) folder. I had no problems. Maybe you try this with the 9 modem description rather than using the X one.
