    The Good and Bad

Remember though, even though $4.3 billion seems like a lot, major corporations have lost more than that in a day. Aren't you confusing cash with market capitalization? Former is important to keep and hard to lose, the latter is less important, and rather unstabile.

Switcher Switched Back - Too Slow They Say

Umm, they are using MSIE. Of course it is slow. It has always been slow on X. In fact, it's slow slow that I exclusively use mozilla now.

    Yahoo! website in Grey colour.

Too bad it has to go back. Yahoo! has to be the second ugliest website behind JeffK's As Zeldman says, "nobody cares about Yahoo!'s layout but Yahoo execs"

    Gateway's iMac look-alike!

Wow, they picked up a design that Ives and Jobs specifically rejected for its clumsy look.. Yeah, I'll buy one of those

    Another very funny versiontracker thing

Maybe it will take advantage of somewhat decent newer carbon libs, because the performance of this program under osx is abysmal. A PIII 733 with 128 Megs of RAM trounces me on a scene I've been working on because of radiosity and a material I use. Meanwhile, the render speed is half the mac on...

    Official MacWorld Keynote Discussion Thread

I believe the faq stated that if you were an 'upgraded' iTools user, you would be getting the next year for free. [bugger, got beat to the punch]

Time to kill the "PowerMac" name....?

hmm. I'd prefer to be rid of the name Macintosh, but it's Mac OS, etc, and there is a lot to change there.. However, I think Apple should go with the Apple name.. and stick with it. They can name the compters in stages.. or something. Think about it: we can have the Apple stage I, the Apple II...

    microsoft and GNU

That would be an even greater prank if more people would donate in MSFT's name. That would really cloud the issue and make it seem to the casual observer that they come down on both sides of the issue; this is a bad position to be in.

    This Is The Best Idea

Did you ever try loading Media Player 7 on a PC? It is the worst experience! Pop in a CD, and wait 60 seconds for the stupid app to load. Change screens in the app, and see a noticable 5 second lag. Visualisation is slow too. It's bloat bloat bloat, and unlike Apple's quicktime, you can't...

    Which Windows features?

I'll have to disagree with you there. You can go from IE to PS to IE with the same keystroke and you don't have to tab through ALL your open apps. Also, I'd like a keystroke for going between app windows that is consistent. cmd-opt-tab would be nice. (ok, liteswitchx does this. Now integrate...

    Isn't the CRT officially dead?

I happen to have 'fast' eyes. Anything below 72Hz on a CRT makes me dizzy. I have no such problem with the TFT iMac. Nor do I see 'ghosts'

Why do these damn Dell PC's keep getting faster?!

The funny thing is that the PC games have been keeping around the 400-700 MHz range for reccomended speed, while the RAM usage and graphics requirements have risen. The 2.5GHz is the difference between 65 FPS and 165. I don't think you'd miss those frames much :p
