You assume that OS X will run on any old x86 box. Nobody said anything about that. Using x86 processors in Apple boxes will not make them anymore generic PC's than they are today.

Howdy, Anybody know if it's possible to cause your iDisk to be mounted from the command line? I frequently ssh from my iBook (sitting on my ass in front of the TV) up to my G4 in my home office, and I'm tired of running upstairs to mount the iDisk from the Finder when I need to access it...

I'm trying to help a friend diagnose a problem he's having on 10.2.6. For some reason, he can no longer open .dmg files. Here's what he wrote: This happens to him on all .dmg's, so I don't think it's a corrupted file. He's rebooted and all that. Any ideas? thanks!

I have a weird-ism on my one remaining Jaguar installation: control-C has stopped responding in Terminal windows. This makes it a pain to ping, tail -f and other functions that need the control-C to halt. Anyone encountered this? I cannot recall any config changes that could have triggered...
