I haven't used a wireless adapter, but I have seen - owned - many a CD "installer: for "Mac and Windows" where there IS nothing to install for Mac. You just use the perpipheral and the Mac recognizes it. Have you tried inserting the adapter and see what happens?

You don't say how large these files are, but unless they might be some book you wrote and don't want to lose, I suspect these are pieces of Windows viruses you probably downloaded on emails--they cannot be opened on a Mac, nor can they do any harm.

This doesn't have anything to do with needing to delete your Font Caches, does it?
