YES ! Apple comes through again!!! Firmware update 5.1.5f2 - hope this fixes it.

UPDATE: So I took the advice of Macfixit.com and took out the original Apple 128 meg sticks - and that solved the issues...crazy. But now I am running on only 512mb. Come on Apple - give us a fix.

UPDATE: It seems as though if I don't have any peripherals plugged into the keyboard (USB) it is fine - really weird...

i just tried pulling all the RAM from the machine and reinserting, like suggested on Macfixit - so far so good - it have lasted about 5 mins so far - hopefully this is a fix - or I could be locked up by the time you all read this - thanks for the help everyone!

Help! I just updated my firmware to the latest version on software update and now my G5 is locking up randomly. I have a 1.6 Ghz G5. Is there any way to downgrade the firmware?

I have an Airport card in my iBook and a D-Link 614+ Wireless Router and, for me at least, they worked together out of the box. Just make sure you turn Airport on and select the right network from the pull-down. Also, make sure that WEP is not enabled on your router. You really should have it...

I had this happen too, and I feel your pain. It's damn frustrating. But, the good news is that I figured out why it was doing it (mine at least). I used Disk Utility to verify file permissions and repair them and WAMO! - Safari was good as new. It's worth a try.

Road Runner here. Was #1 in the US at one point, not sure if it is anymore but they just upped the speeds for us again. Coming from ADSL, cable is a dream.

RAM - Don't think just because its Kingston that is won't fail. Believe it or not, some RAM works better with some OS's. I would try yanking the Kingston, installing Panther again. It might not help at all, but I think it's worth a shot.
