You could do it in iMovie and then export the file without video (using expert settings). The .mov file will play in iTunes and QT and you can convert in iTunes to MP3 or AAC.

I don't think so. But you can connect the MyBook to your iMac, and then start-up your MacMini (while pressing and holding down 't' on the keyboard) and the MacMini will mount to you iMac as a hard drive.

Try using the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with your computer. If that doesn't work, and no discs do, you'll probably have to have it repaired. But this may be covered by the 1 year manufacturers warranty.

I think you can boot from the OS X disc and reinstalling will eliminate all accounts (not sure what you might stand to lose by doing that, but I'm even if you don't reinstal OS X, I think booting from the disc can give you a way to override the master password). Worth a go...
